response in the gut against the gluten (gliadin). This occurs at true celiac disease, but also in the clinical picture of gluten sensitivity. Only 30-40% of the patients with gluten sensitivity show an abdominal symptom picture with bloating, loss of appetite, irritable bowel syndrome, abdominal pain, constipation and flatulence. Alternating with complain such as burning tongue, general tiredness. The most common atypical presentation of gluten sensitivity starts with tiredness of unclear origin, anemia and can stretch to consequences due to autoimmune disease (e.g. thyroiditis, rheumatoid arthritis).
